Driving around New Brunswick is as relaxing as the province itself.
In order to help our visitors best enjoy the
highlights of our wonderful province, we have designated no less than five
scenic driving routes.
Whether you follow the spectacular coastal stretches
(along the Fundy and Acadian Coastal Drives), explore the magnificent
riversides (River Valley Scenic Drive and Miramichi River Route) or experience
the rugged beauty of the mountains (Appalachian Range Route), you’re sure to
experience warm New Brunswick hospitality and a rich kaleidoscope of characters
and cultures along the way.
Try to make the time to explore all five drives,
and really to know our wonderful province!
The
477km Acadian Coastal Drive follows the Northumberland Strait from Aulac in the
south to the northern village of Charlo on stunning Chaleur Bay. This is the
heart of Acadia and it pulses with unique sights, sounds and tastes you won't
find anywhere else on earth. You could complete the route in just seven hours
but you'll want to hop out, explore and soak up the atmosphere at every scenic
turn.

Located
between the northern community of Dalhousie, and Perth-Andover, 276 km to the
south, this breathtakingly scenic route will have you in its spell right from
the start.
Venture
into pristine, rugged terrain teeming with wildlife and wild rivers which
Aboriginals, Acadians, Scots and Loyalists have called home for centuries.

Come
and explore the 391km Fundy Coastal Drive where whales and other wildlife are
often your travelling companions. You could complete the drive in five hours,
but to really appreciate the sights, lighthouses, trails, beaches and
experiences that you will encounter en route, give yourself a few days (or
more).

Stretching
between the cities of Miramichi and Fredericton, the Miramichi River Route is a
mere 182km, about a two-hour drive along Route 8. But the lure of this river
steeped in history and the wonderful people who live by it could keep you
enchanted for days.
